PRESS RELEASE ELECTROLUX CASE

  “The company has to change the reorganization without any closure of plants and cut of jobs”

The National secretaries of FIM-FIOM-UILM and the National coordination of RSU in the Electrolux group met them in Mestre on the 11^th of April.

All the paticipants were very satisfied about the success of the general strike of the 4^th with the demonstration in Florence.

This success makes our demands stronger and the management has to be able to:

Change the restructuring plan presented on the cold without closure of plants and cut of jobs

Keep a strong presence of the Electrolux group in Italy trough investments

Answer to the alternative solutions proposed by FIM-FIOM-UILM and the Coordiantion of RSU  for the closure of Florence and the downsizing of Susegana.

On the 9^th of April an official table was opened in the ministry of Industry but the management has not left their hypothesis.

For all these reasons FIM-FIOM-UILM and the Coordination of RSU decided

To declare 8 hours of strike to be done in local plants

To make assembies of information and discussion with all the workers

To have a General assembly of all shopstweards of Electrolux by the half of may to evaluate and decide stronger initiatives.
